Calabash homeowners don't need another sales pitch about their roof — they need someone who shows up, explains what's actually wrong, and fixes it right the first time.
Before Roof Repair Smedway was a name on a truck, our foremen were already up on ladders across Calabash, NC, figuring out which shingle brands actually hold their seal through a rough season and which ones just look good in a showroom.
Ask to see our Calabash, NC license and insurance certificate and you'll have it in your hand before the estimate even starts.
A roof repair that's "close enough" tends to fail again within a year, usually during the exact storm it was supposed to handle. We don't build that way.
Documentation on request, no exceptions.
A midnight call gets the same urgency as a noon call.
You approve a number before the crew touches your roof.
We already know Calabash's weather patterns and permit process.
Most emergency calls we get trace back to a smaller sign that went unnoticed for weeks or months.
None of the six signs below require an emergency call on their own, but each one is worth a scheduled inspection before it turns into something bigger.
If the water coming off your downspouts looks gritty, the shingle surface is thinner than it should be.
Once a shingle starts warping, its seal against wind-driven rain is already compromised.
Daylight visible through the attic roof boards means water has the same path in.
Stains grow slowly, which is exactly why they get ignored until they spread.
An unexplained bill increase is worth checking against your roof's condition.
Even a small missing section can let in enough water to rot decking in a single storm.
Not every call needs the same fix, so we scope each Calabash job individually instead of running everything through one generic quote.
Below is the full breakdown of what we cover in Calabash, so you can see roughly where your situation fits before you even call.
Downed branches, torn flashing, and wind-lifted shingles all fall under our emergency response scope.
Every homeowner gets walked through material options before a decision is made, not after.
We schedule commercial jobs to minimize disruption to tenants and foot traffic wherever possible.
We'll tell you honestly whether your roof needs a full replacement or just a targeted repair — we don't default to the bigger invoice.
A proper inspection checks flashing, fasteners, ventilation, and granule wear before small issues become leaks.
If your roof has an architectural quirk, we scope it personally rather than forcing a standard fix.
Four steps, no surprises in between — here's exactly what happens after you pick up the phone.
A dispatcher logs your address, roof type, and the problem, then schedules based on urgency.
A technician walks the roof and, when accessible, checks the attic side for the full picture.
An itemized estimate is delivered before any work starts, covering materials, labor, and cleanup.
A final walkthrough confirms everything matches the agreed scope.
We could list a dozen more reasons to work with us, but these six are the ones Calabash homeowners mention most often when they leave a review.
Crews based in Calabash, NC reach Calabash faster than out-of-area companies quoting a multi-week wait.
We'd rather lose a bid on an honest price than win one that grows later.
Crews carry moisture meters and proper fall protection on every job site.
Every job includes a written labor warranty separate from the shingle manufacturer's coverage.
We've worked with enough local carriers to know what actually speeds up claim approval.
Some roofs need a full reroof; plenty just need one honest repair.
Our guarantee covers our labor specifically: if the completed work doesn't match the agreed scope, we correct it at no extra cost.
We also guarantee the number on your estimate — barring a scope change you approve first, that's the number on your invoice.
None of this is a marketing line — it's how every Calabash job actually gets closed out, warranty paperwork included.
